Join us at The Mistletoe Ball, the curtain-raiser for the Dickensian Christmas Festival!
This year the theme is a Balmoral Christmas, and Queen Victoria has invited us up to Bonnie Scotland to attend her favourite seasonal celebration.
The Ball takes place in the magnificent surroundings of the Queens Hall of Rochester Corn Exchange (address: Northgate, Rochester, ME1 1LS).
After a welcome from a Scottish piper we welcome Her Majesty at 7.30pm, followed by a Highland meal of Scotch Pie, Neeps and Tatties and mince pies and shortbread. The evening will include dancing in all styles featuring the Cèilidh band, Rejigged with a caller to make sure everyone can join in and enjoy themselves. There will be table quizzes, surprise gifts and much more, as well as Court presentations to Her Majesty. There will be a pay bar throughout the evening and a raffle in aid of the Friends of Eastgate House.
Her Majesty will look for her subjects to be dressed appropriately. To mark her love of the tartan she will be making a small presentation to the guest with the ‘comeliest tartan accessory’, and by honouring ‘the most amusing use of tartan’. Her Majesty considers the new fashion of Victorian Steampunk dress to be entirely appropriate for this occasion.
Tickets: There is an Earlybird ticket price of £22.00 per person (meal included) until Monday 18th November. After that date the price increases to £26.00. Bookings will close on Monday 2nd December.
