There is nothing like the great outdoors, especially in Medway. The rural parts of Medway are extensive and scenic, a place once enjoyed by the great British author Charles Dickens when he lived in the area. The marshes on the river Medway were an inspiration to the author and used in the opening chapters of his novel Great Expectations.

It's an ideal place to stay if your are a keen walker, cyclist or just enjoy visiting RSPB nature reserves and countryside parks.

A detailed cycle and tourism map on the area is available from the Medway Visitor Information Centre.
